  • An all-inclusive F2F collaborators’ meeting has been arranged for Thursday 6th October 2022 and subsequently, a year later, on Friday 6th October 2023

  • PRUH and St George’s re-open to recruitment

  • KCH is first site to re-open recruitment following COVID-19 pause.
  • Guidance document v3.0 sent out to sites as to the procedure for restart

March 2020

  • Trial paused on 19th March 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic
  • Guidance document v2.0 sent out for sites on how to manage their 6-monthly visits remotely

August 2019

  • BOPPP joins Twitter – catch us on @boppptrial 
  • Derby recruits their first patient!
  • Derby, Brighton, Frimley and the Royal Free become the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th sites to be opened to recruit patients!
  • Nottingham and Devon & Exeter complete their Site Initiation Visit
  • Nottingham, Devon & Exeter confirm capability and capacity
  • BOPPP receives 
    • REC Favourable Opinion for clinical trial Protocol v1.4
    • HRA approval for clinical trial Protocol v1.4
    • Regulatory approval from the MHRA for clinical trial Protocol v1.4

July 2019

  • Royal Free confirm capability and capacity
  • St George’s, Frimley, Imperial and Royal Free complete their Site Initiation Visit 

June 2019

  • The first UK patient is recruited at King’s College Hospital – Denmark Hill
  • PRUH, Brighton, Plymouth and Derby complete their Site Initiation Visit 
  • King’s College Hospital – Denmark Hill is the first site to be opened to recruit patients! 
  • Frimley, Plymouth and Derby confirm capability and capacity

May 2019 

  • The first confirmation of site capability and capacity to deliver BOPPP is provided by King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust that covers Denmark Hill and PRUH
  • St George’s confirm capability and capacity
  • The Trial Management Group host a Pan-London and Co-applicant Investigator meeting involving King’s College Hospital – Denmark Hill, King’s College Hospital – Princess Royal University Hospital (PRUH), St Georges, Imperial, Frimley, Royal Free and Barts

April 2019

  • BOPPP receives approval to start the trial from the Health Research Authority (HRA) for clinical trial Protocol v1.3

March 2019

  • BOPPP receives Research Ethics Committee (REC) Favourable Opinion for clinical trial Protocol v1.3
  • BOPPP receives regulatory approval from the Medicines & Healthcare products Regulatory Authority (MHRA) for clinical trial Protocol v1.3

January 2019

  • The BOPPP trial research grant starts with permission form the Department of Health and the NIHR

  • King’s Health Partners make a press release promoting the BOPPP Trial
